Dumitru is a teenage orphan in Romania who has never been able to see
past his nose.  But all that changed in September of 2007 when Medical
Missions Foundation arrived in the tiny town of Botosani (pronounced
bow-tow-shawn) for our seventh annual mission to the poorest county in
the country.

   Dr. Donny Suh, a pediatric ophthalmologist examined Dumitru and
diagnosed a problem with the shape of Dumitru's eyes.
By a stroke of good fortune, someone had donated a pair of old glasses
that are the exact prescription Dumitru needs to see.
"Watch this" said Dr. Suh.  "For the first time in his life he is going
to be able to see".  As soon as Dr. Suh placed the glasses on Dumitru's
face, his his eyes lit up and a huge grin grew from ear to ear.  "Da
(yes)", Dumitru said through his smile, "It feels great!".

   Dumitru is one of many cases proving that sometimes it only takes a
little to accomplish a lot.  Dumitru will be examined again in September
of 2008, to see if he needs new glasses, or surgery that will ensure
good vision for his future.
